Our Story

Fermoy Camera Club was set up in October 2010 and is the brainchild of Fermoy man, Jim Bartley.

Starting with less than 40 members the club’s popularity has seen it grow to a membership of over 70 enthusiastic amateur and professional photographers. The aim of the Fermoy Camera Club is to provide a friendly and supportive forum for member’s interested in photography, whether they are beginners or experienced.

The club’s ethos is all about having fun with photography and to provide an association of like-minded people to enjoy, share and advance our photographic skills, to encourage photography within the community and to use photography to the benefit of the community by providing pictorial records of the community, its people and events and its environs.

To enjoy our club, all you need is an appreciation of photography and enthusiastic approach to participation at meetings and events. We meet twice a month and have a competition each month based on a specific theme. We also have a photographer of the year leader-board and many other events and outing etc. All new members are welcome. Membership is 50 Euro per year with the club year running from October to October.

When & Where We Meet

We meet on the second and fourth Tuesday night of every month upstairs in the Anderson Room of the Fermoy Community Youth Centre, Ashe Quay, Fermoy from 8pm to 10pm approximately.
