February 2019 - Your Choice

Overall winner was George O’Keeffe with an amazing layered image depicting Ballard and Killarney – two of his favourite places to take photos. He has made the trip to Ballard 100’s of times, but this shot perfectly captured the lighting he had been searching for.

Second was Sinead Hickey with a masterful capture of a beautify creature taken on an FCC trip to West Cork, when they ‘happened’ to visit a garden centre on a warm sunny day and all the insects and butterflies were out to pay and perform for the cameras.  Well done Sinead.

Third was Louise Howard who produced a beautiful portrait taken some time ago but revisited in editing for this this challenge. Beautifully printed and framed, this black and white image really impressed the judges. Louise was the Grade 2 winner.

Helen Coughlan was our Grade 3 winner having expertly captured two very difficult subjects in one image – Bluebells and Pheasants. This image was taken at Curraghmore Gardens on an FCC trip a few years ago.
