September 2018 - Perfect Timing

Fermoy Camera Club (FCC) members have been busy preparing for our Perfect Timing challenge and 22 members submitted entries for our printed competition this month which was judges internally.

Congratulations to our winners: Karen Fleming 1st overall and Grade 1 winner with a perfectly timed sliotar dropping into water. Tom Quish 2nd with an amazing shot of a handball player in flight.  Finbarr O’Hanlon 3rd with a photo of a canoeist taken in Slovenia.. Donagh Cronin Grade 2 winner with a picture that caused much debate – a tree creeper on the underside of a mossy branch. Sheena Hanrahan Grade 3 winner with a photo of a surfer taken recently in Co Antrim.  Congratulations to all who entered and special congrats to all our winners. 

Thanks to George O’Keeffe for all the work he puts into running our competition and to all those who helped on the night, setting up the room, taking winners photos, arranging the tea and so on. 

Our next competition on 23rd October and the theme is “Disappearing Ireland”. This is a printed competition and as per usual in advance of presenting your framed image on the night of the competition, digital copies to be emailed to competition secretary by Friday night 19th October 2018. This competition will be judged internally.

Next meeting is Tuesday 7th October, held in two parts – main meeting at 8pm and the AGM at 7.30pm. The club in indebted to members who take on a role of responsibility and work so hard on behalf of the members. New ideas and volunteers are always welcome – please consider if you can give a little time to help ensure our club continues to thrive.
